News
🧠 Personal AI assistant for $20,000/month. Link
OpenAI plans to launch a PhD-level AI agent. AI agents are an evolution of language models, with the promise of handling sequences of computer tasks.
The main question is whether this price is justified, since OpenAI's language models don't perform better than others in tests. Is this AI agent really that much better? Or, if pricing is replicated by competitors, are we moving into a time where 'Premium' AI services are too expensive for most people?
While many companies are focusing on AI agents, there isn't a completely reliable and capable one available to the public yet.
₿ Trump announced a launch of Strategic Bitcoin Reserve. Link
President Donald Trump announced plans to ease cryptocurrency regulations and establish a Strategic Bitcoin Reserve and U.S. Digital Asset Stockpile, leveraging digital assets seized through forfeiture proceedings.
Trump's administration seeks to position the U.S. as the global crypto capital, reversing regulatory actions initiated under President Biden and signalling strong support for the cryptocurrency industry.
Despite initial optimism, Trump's announcement led to a decline in Bitcoin and other cryptocurrency prices, as investors were disappointed by the lack of government plans to actively purchase additional crypto assets, causing Bitcoin to drop by as much as 6%.
🍎 Apple presented new MacBooks. Link
Apple unveiled the new M4 MacBook Air featuring an upgraded M4 chip, support for two external monitors, a 12-megapixel webcam, and a subtle new "sky blue" colour replacing space gray.
The M4 chip significantly boosts performance, delivering up to 8x faster video editing and 60% faster web browsing compared to Intel-based MacBook Air models, along with improved AI capabilities through a more powerful Neural Engine.
Despite notable internal upgrades, the overall design of the MacBook Air remains largely unchanged from the previous generation, with the new "sky blue" colour appearing closer to silver under certain lighting conditions.
